Isn't it sad you create threads and posts to troll video games and yet you don't even own a video game system let alone play any games?

Nope.
Sony's real push is for camera+wand w/controller buttons.
It's going to be the best solution possible.

Thats called thw Wii motion plus, and it sucks.

Holding it in your hand is NOT futuristic. It's old fashioned.

Tom Cruise never had a plastic dildo to scroll the screen in Minority Report. FACT.

WM+ is not as advanced as the wand+camera combo.
The camera is able to constantly calibrate the wand whereas the WM+ drifts as time goes on.

Uh yeah.

Natal will have us DOING minority report.

Now imagine if in all those scenes, Tom Cruise was holding a plastic wand.

It just illustrated that wands are old fashioned.

This isn't a UI for browsing text and photos
We're talking about video game consoles. Users need something tactile with some amount of feedback.

I'm not a fan of motion controls at all, but you do need something with buttons. And preferably an analog camera control. If you look at the Xbox's best selling titles I think most Natal freaks would be stumped to explain how you are supposed to control those games using only gestures and still retain the precision and quickness of an actual controller.

Well duh, but if Natal is intended purely for cornball minigame collections then that makes it pretty hard to evangelize it as a superior control method. If you want to claim that controllers are "old-fashioned" and outdated, it's a pretty hard claim to support when most games will require that outdated and old-fashioned controller. And if most games are going to need a regular controller for proper play, it makes it pretty hard to sell a $100-$200 add-on just for gimmick titles.

You can scan items in anyway. Golf club for golf game, etc.

Getting back to the "you need buttons" argument is basically saying controller (not wagglewand)is the best way to control videogame. Which is probably true for us hardcore.

But theres no way a Wii mote is as precise as an analog stick/button controller.

So you're basically arguing for the half assed solution if you argue for Wii motes. "Well, it's not as precise as a real controller, but it's not as bad as no controller at all".

If you're going to do motion control then, I say go crazy with it. Go Natal. Dont go halfway, aka wii mote.

Anyways, pretending Nintendo and Sony wont be copying Natal soon enough is pointless anyway. So why are the Sonybots even arguing against it?

Hell, we see how quick the GAF Sfags are already jumping on the dinner plate steering wheel idea, they love it. But that's essentially no different than Natal (I'm sure Natal can do the same already).

The only thing the Sfags are consistent about is shilling for whatever interem solution Sony is offering currently. But we all know they wish they had something like Natal, and the way I'm sure theyre fawning over dinner plate steering wheels, which is a direct copy of Natal, proves it. Because it's from Sony is the only reason they like it.

Just like Olimario would love Natal if Sony had unveiled it at E3 instead of MS. We all know that.
