Mini ITX Case(with 9 USB, HDMI, firewire, ESATA, optical out, memory card reader)
Mini ITX Mobo(with PCI x16 and PCI x1 expansion slots and up to 8 GB of supported RAM)
DVD RW Drive
Radeon 5570 1 GB DDR3(most powerful slim graphics card)
Core 2 Quad Q8200
Windows 7 for system builders
4GB DDR3 RAM
640 GB HDD
220 Watt Power Supply
Keyboard
Mouse
Speakers

Must be under $520 and all NEW parts. A certain other poster who I've proven wrong on many counts, thinks this can be done, I beg to differ.

I'm so convinced that I'm putting my Opa-Ages account on the line.

:btw, I just built the system using the cheapest prices on Newegg and it came out to $700, and that didn't include kb/mouse, Speakers, which if you bought cheap ones would probably only add $30-$40 to the cost.

You never proven me wrong.

Besides, this is a trick challenge because anyone who calls themselves a hardcore PC gamer wouldn't be caught dead buying a K-Mart Blue Light Special PC.

I know, but these are the requirements. Must fit in 220 watts or less. To make it easier on you guys, I'll give you a 300 watt limit, but it still must be a slim tower PC(which doesn't take anything higher than a Radeon 5570).

not sure you want to do that, your card isn't exactly what they'd call fast

And putting an artificial low wattage and case size on a build makes zero sense.

What is the model number of your Gateway?

And putting an artificial low wattage and case size on a build makes zero sense.

I played the Crysis demo once it didn't seem too bad on medium settings(I believe I was playing it at 1080p at the time also cause I cared about res back then).

That benchmark is for max settings. Graphically intense games I play at 720p. I could probably play Crysis at 720p with medium settings and get at least 30 fps.

On graphics intense games I don't see whats so bad about medium settings. I play GTA IV on middling settings and it still looks better than the 360 version.

Yes, I'm rocking a 220 watts power supply on this bitch. Shit has been going strong for over a year now. With my gfx card it has been going strong for almost 1/2 a year now.

Don't bottleneck the PC with a weak power supply....that's like the worst possible thing you can do.

Also, yes the 2GB 5970 is a great card(best one out right now), but you are spending nearly $700 to get 60 frames per second at 1080p on a two year old game.

I spent less on my entire system than the cost of that card.

Thats what everyone was telling me before buying my graphics card but I'm close to half a year with the card.

I told them if shit breaks then tough shit for me. Shit hasn't broke yet.

And it won't. My system is stable as fuck.

You pretty much set yourself up to not be able to add extra stuff to your PC because of lack of power.

What do I need to add to my system? It has everything I wanted already. There is nothing else that I need to add, my desktop is complete... for now.

I will add an SSD once prices are reasonable but I don't think thats going to be a strain once I remove my current HDD.

In two years maybe there will be a low profile 43 watt using card that is a couple of tiers above mine(maybe something on the level of 5750). I might upgrade then.

This shit is going to last me 4 years at least.

First off, the items that aren't described in detail are the ones you chose from Newegg, so you know those parts.

The other parts with detailed descriptions? Search for it on Newegg.

All legit.

I'll let you make a farewell thread before I ban you in an hour.

I didn't cheat at all.

You never said I wasn't allowed to pirate a copy of Windows 7 and burn it on a brand new DVD, so you can throw a couple of bucks to the amount.

And the thing I created is way less than $536, sorry.

I'll ban you at 11PM. Make you final thread saying your goodbyes.

Yeah, I upgraded to Pro that way, had 7 Home earlier.

But I don't see it as being free, it was included in tuition cost.
