It's not about power, Annon, it's about respect. It's about the state of these boards. They've gone considerably down hill the past year. It's no longer a place for pleasant discussion, it's a place dominated by a few very noisy posters that contribute nothing to the forum, and whereby their behavior is further perpetuated by your vacillating decisions with respect to rep. It's just not a fun place to post anymore, and what put me over the edge is the disrespect you gave me.

I deadmin Gek temporarily because I saw some suspicious activity on his part, in order to protect the reputation of other posters on this forum, and you see it fit to deadmin me, say it may be temporary, take over a week to decide, then just decide to throw me to the wayside. Given all that I've done for this place -- basically established it entirely -- that's frankly bullshit.

From a community standpoint, I made this place what it is. I managed to successfully defect posters away from Reanimated's board. Without my support, that would have never happened. You simply had the infrastructure in place to make it so we weren't on EZboard software. Which isn't to say I'm discounting your efforts; I've been thankful for all you've done for this place until recently.

You've done plenty without notifying me - Rep additions, changes, banning members, the list goes on and on and on. I never said a peep because I trusted your decisions and simply don't care enough to make them an issue. I do one thing that wasn't even all that questionable without telling you about it (really now, if you're not browsing the forum and Gek is changing rep en masse, why should there be any discussion involved? I acted, like any good mod or admin would do to a spammer), and you decide to make it an issue.

I made Suicide a temporary admin because it was a joke and to piss of IRJB if you want the honest truth, I never expected him to necessarily be a permanent stay.

BTW, I'm not responsible for the rep drama. I hardly ever complained about it on the board I DEALT with the rep drama others created.

"No rep drama." Yet you were responsible for 75% of the rep drama here, and clearly one of the most butthurt people about getting negative rep.
"They have sigs." Which you were just as against as I was, and was one of the first decisions that you and I made together on this forum.
"New, unique posters." Their posters are not interesting at all. Most are clearly in high school and are bigtime WoW users. Have fun with that.

this argument doesn't wash, because it's not as if hans exercised his authority to any staggering degree, never making an overt disruption with his administrative privileges -- save for the meaningless reset of rep (who the fuck cares?).

my problem with hans as an admin -- and with YOU -- was the seeming LACK of authority.

no one on within the administrative fold seems to grasp that there are a hell of a LOT of people on this forum that should be banned.

that was always my problem.

Hans is surprisingly on point.
Rep has brought in more joke characters, made them more active, and brought out the worst in them.
Good times and bad times on OA really stand out. The last year has been a bad period.

I remember really enjoying OA in 2007 when Vent launched and Amanda was the new hotness.
Shit was fun as fuck.

How is trying to save OA selling it out? OA is about the posters, not a name, not a URL, not a forum software.

A forum merger is precisely what this forum needs in order to prevent its continual decline. This current board is drowned by a few posters, and the "good" posters we have aren't active enough to really make it not noticeable. Traffic is sparse, the only good thing about this board now is the 4chan thread and that's it. The rest is pure garbage, I can't believe you don't see that.
