Can somebody explain?
I'm going to see THOR tonight and it's showing in digital and then in these two formats.

Has somebody seen something in XD 3D?
Sounds intense.

XD-RealD 3D is 3D where RealD 3D has only 2D.

Not a big difference, Real D is a passive system with polarized screen, while XD is the same but on a larger, brighter screen.

The real difference is Xpand and Dolby, which use active shutter glasses and a regular screen. All of them are more or less the same if configured right, but XD is probably the tops.

Dolby doesn't use active shutter glasses, it's also passive like RealD, but it's done in a different manner than polarized. It's also a big ol' piece of shit.

Cinemark XD is the best 3D image quality I've experienced in a movie theater. Looks great. It's more or less the same as Cinemark's regular RealD theaters, but the screen is much bigger.
