You should read up on the Republican party, their original ideology, and how it's been twisted following the hijacking by the religious nuts and corporate shills.
RP is the epitome of a conservative Republican.

What's weird is that the GOP and its voting base has made it very clear that they don't want a Conservative Republican of any degree representing their party.

Really can't comprehend why anyone "intelligent" would promote a Barack Obama presidency. That's like, a serious sign of a deficient, un-inquiring mind.

What am I ignorant of? I'm not sure you're making any kind of case for your conniving sell-out president. All you're doing is calling me names and avoiding the point that Obama is another bloodthirsty suit cut from the same cloth as George W. Bush before him. I think it's sad you seem to look no deeper than the surface of what the Democratic party means to represent. I find most people find it comforting to stay within the confines of familiarity. I guess I wouldn't blame you if you didn't seem like an intelligent person, but I guess you're too proud to ever admit Obama and most everyone in his party is a fraud.

I think you're being dishonest if you claim that a Ron Paul presidency would not see supposed 'terrorists" bombed by our drones. Obama has done a hell of a lot more than any president before him, when it comes to ending American militarism. He engineered the integration of our military by homosexuals. He did away with the anti-Islamic language used to frame the so-called War on Terror. In spite of the drone attacks, he and his administration have fought to accord due process to suspected terrorists held in Guantanamo. Albeit unsuccessfully, he pushed to have Guantanamo Bay shut down.

I don't care about some cock sucker at Salon who holds a grudge because the President didn't move fast enough. To even suggest that Obama MIGHT be as bad as or worse than Bush is the height of intellectual dishonesty. Furthermore, arguing that Ron Paul would suddenly have the Pentagon dishing out daisies and heart-shaped candies from the bellies of our bombers is pure lunacy.

I like how "braindead" pretends that there's no merit to the link I posted just because he says so. The facts speak. The proof is in the pudding. Who cares what the source is? I didn't find that article on Townhall.com. It's a sourced editorial that gives you plain facts about the kind of violent terrorism Obama has waged on the Middle East.

Your candidate of choice is just another shill in a suit. He might be half black and Rush Limbaugh might think he's a Socialist, but he's just another corporate puppet. You are too. Enjoy your fresh kicks and sleep sound knowing you acquiesce to mass murder waged by our country just because you buy into PR lies that Obama and the Democrats aren't just a bunch of opportunists. Romney used to be one, Perry ran Al Gore's campagin... :rollin

You might think you're playing smart pretending Paul would just be more of the same, but he actually has a decades-long record of being true to his word and drafting/signing on to policy that he believes in. He isn't a vacillating tool like most of his colleagues. I don't necessarily want to drive my car down Coca Cola Highway, but I certainly want this country to start focusing on itself instead of going around bombing the fuck out of the world.

Braindead... fitting name. :rollin

I think I'd rather vote for Perry or Gingrich over these scumbags. At least they're honest about wanting to destroy our rights and the lives of countless millions of children.

Quote

Beyond WikiLeaks, the Obama administration (following in the footsteps of Saudi Arabia) is seeking “a new federal law forcing Internet e-mail, instant-messaging, and other communication providers offering encryption to build in backdoors for law enforcement surveillance.” The Obama DOJ has insisted that it has the right to read opened emails with no warrants from a court. The Chairwoman of the Democratic Party, Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, is sponsoring a bill under which “Internet providers would be forced to keep logs of their customers’ activities for one year.” The Washington Post‘s Dana Priest and William Arkin reported in their “Top Secret America” series last year: “Every day, collection systems at the National Security Agency intercept and store 1.7 billion e-mails, phone calls and other types of communications.”

Change we can believe in ™.

Assuming he's the nominee, I will still be voting for Obama. Go ahead and throw away a vote to Ron Paul. That's what I find so great about America: everyone has a right to be an uninformed dipshit.

Paul has a "decades long record" of spouting lunacy mitigated by bits of rational thinking. Hey, a broke clock is right twice a day, right? I'm all set with a candidate who believes in according "state's rights" to regions that are filled with people like Enigma. No, thanks.

yes, ignore me, because you know I think you're full of shit. You sound like every other halfwit Paultard that predictably frames politics as some charade that tricks people into thinking there's a difference between the parties. I know there's a huge difference between Dems and Repubs. If you think the two parties are indistinguishable, study up on what Bush did during his two terms and compare it to the 3 years Obama has been in the White House.

I don't give a shit about any escalation of hostilities in Afghanistan, because I wasn't stupid enough to think Obama could do jack shit about it. I do know that he's done considerably more on the domestic front than _any_ President in the past half century. School loans? Lily Ledbetter Act? Reproductive choice? The list goes on, and I can link you to actual accomplishments if you'd like.

He's got nothing to say; he's stuck in a holding pattern and afraid to let go of his primitive, erroneous belief in the good of his party of choice.

Our two parties have changed so much in the past decades that if you're still toeing the same party line in 2012, you're a delusional fraud.
Neither party - as a collective - has out best interest in mind, they would rather draw out this political stalemate and vie for absolute power in Washington - completely losing touch with their role in society in the process. In their wake, leaving scores of disappointed, hopeless voters in the process.

I used to fancy myself a democrat, but these days i would rather not affiliate myself with partisan politics, but instead vote with integrity.
If that means voting for a conseratve Republican, then so be it...
