Sweet deal. What phone are you using? I assume you had to splash the cash on that?

the tegra dual core app store looks like shit now, what do you think their quad core app store will look like? really, what's the use when those cores will probably do nothing but suck battery.

i don't care much for emu's but gaming must be amazing on that big screen.

Borderlands 2 coming to Tegra 3 devices. Would be sweet if that's just the beginning.

OK more on the Note:

It's awesome.

Kind of mind boggling how good Samsung and Android are. The note taking crap seems at the least a cool gimmick too. Cant see too many instances where it would actually be useful, not sure though.

The display is just unbelievably gorgeous. I'm not sure how much HD is helping, whatever the case it's amazing.

I still think it's probably too big. It's really not one-handable.

On the flip side though, it's practically like a real tablet for web surfing. Sites that are annoying on my phone, like banking sites, would probably be great on this.

I'm more impressed with the 4G almost, it has the 4G indicator at my house (I am sure it's HSPA, but still). As people know I'm in east texas so we are not on the cutting edge of stuff like that, i was little surprised. ATT is simply awesome.

I ran a couple speed tests and it did up to 5mb/s down. My (3G) phone typically caps out at ~3mb. I think I was more impressed with the latency though, which is usually 300+ms on my phone I think, and was 120-130 on the "4g". It really felt like much snappier internet. I also downloaded a podcast on both to test in "real world" scenario, the Note downloaded it twice as fast as my phone (phone was 50% when Note was done), very impressive, considering ATT's 3g is blazing fast for 3g.

4G is pretty incredible, once you have it you can't go back to that shitty 3G network.

no lag on youtube, & a portable 4G hotspot for any internet device is simply amazing.

:btw you should be considering the Galaxy nexus rather than the Note IMO.

I'm not on Verizon and dont really wish to switch, so cant really get the Nexus.

Also I dont know what it is, but something about the Nexus has always seemed lackluster to me. Maybe it's the muted, unimpressive color of the default ICS wallpaper or something. It also isn't the most powerful chipset (though lots of phones suffer that issue, well, all LTE phones to date including the ATT version of the Note)

I also saw a Nexus next to a 4.5 phone in Best Buy the other day, and yeah the "4.65" screen thing appears to be bullshit as I expected (because of the ICS menu buttons). It seemed a tad smaller than the 4.5 sitting next to it. Definitely a tad thinner side to side, which is the more important screen size dimension anyway.

I'm basically wishing for the Skyrocket HD (unknown release date, unfortunately) or best of all, the GS3 (double unknown, not even announced yet).

AT&T also has the Galaxy Nexus.

You shouldn't worry too much with cpu specs, ICS makes this thing lightning fast and smooth, but I can see your desire for a larger screen especially once ICS is ported to it.
You can't lose either way.

It's been out for a while now.

http://forums.androi...laxy-nexus.html

I'm on Verizon and have the Galaxy Nexus and a co-worker is on AT&T and has a Galaxy Network on his network.

You must mean the unofficial GSM unlocked imported version or whatever.

It's not a official carrier subsidized ATT phone.

I am in the process of wanting to buy one, badly, just waiting out on my service provider to clear things up with my upgrading time-frame :)

Hope the Note gets ICS this year tyrone. I had the Galaxy S at the same time you had one, did they ever release froyo? I remember it being delayed 3+ times and I ultimately gave up on it.

Maybe it was gingerbread that took forever. I think I had a custom ROM with froyo.

Leaked ICS build for Note on AT&T: http://androidcommun...ds-on-20120404/

Runs solid and it appears to have fixed the over-saturation.

Considering getting one myself, its around $500 outright which is always better then crappy plans that lock you in for a few years.

Ehh, it's 579 here I guess, thought it was more http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B0061YRDX6

Considering it's 299 on contract, that's almost worth it.

But here there arent many cheap/prepaid options that I know of anyway, that get good service where I live, so whats the point.

Can you link me your plan? I think you're lying.
