I own an andriod tablet, several of my friends own andriod phones and I own a windows phone and windows phone is just so much smoother, stable, and well thought out. Andriod is such a crapshoot and its whole setup is just sloppy. Its like some nerds from the 80's came up with the file management system on my tablet.
I guess it works but its much the same way that you can load Windows 95 on a computer today and it would still work but shouldn't we expect more in 2012?
I have no doubt in my mind Windows 8 will be a far, far superior user experience on a tablet than is Andriod simply by comparing my Windows Phone to these Andriod devices.

Here's my file management on my Andriod tablet. I mean WTF?
Functional, yes, but jesus christ...
Furthermore, the browser craps out ALL the fucking time. Downloaded Opera Mini and Dolphin to solve that problem. People would be heading to Microsoft HQ with pitch-forks and torches if they released something this unpolished.

Does any of WP7 even HAVE file managment? It's one of the things I love about Android.
Android is truly Windows on a phone, which is what I always wanted. I dont know wtf WP7 is.

My GF mom's got a Lumia 800, because she works for Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile) and was talked into it for free with a new contract by the company. That's how desperate they are to sell. It's a gorgeous little piece of industrial looking hardware, beautiful flawless display, smooth...but nobody likes the UI. And by far not everyone gets it. I don't do as well, it's just way too sterile, different yet no personality for the user.
I don't know whether your tablet will get ICS. It probably will if it's not a shithole OEM. The first ones like Xoom did/are up be updated.
"You do realize that Blackberry and Palm fanboys said the same thing about Apple and Android five years ago, right. Consumers get bored and move on to the next best thing."
You do realize that not only have Apple and Android taken these guys' (and WM's) marketshare, but did expand the market hundredfold, made smartphones a must have (as well as financially accessible) for the casual user and carry a name? So much mouth propaganda worldwide. Windows is a PC household name, but a ??? in the mobile space and Microsoft simply struggles to find an entrance. Their best bet is to fill Blackberry's shoes in the corporate business by having a perfect synergy between Windows products and their services.

I'll give Apple respect but Android is the cheap knockoff of iOS. It was basically the only alternative. Its success has nothing to do with its quality; of this, I'm sure.
Also, some highend Samsungs aren't getting 4.0 so guess again!

Now will Tango cheap-ass phones get or even profit from Apollo update - which apparently will be about LTE, dual-core support and 720p?. We'll see. That is the price of competitors 1-upping each other by customizing and offering all form and price factors. Such is the mess Google will have to sort out. All I know is that my SGS2 is/runs flawless, more so with ICS.

WP's apps are much more appealing in-app than any of my standard Android apps.

You know what they say about opinions and taste. I adorethe consistency in Windows's phones UI (not even iOS can this), but I never had a problem with managing Desktops and gladly carry on to do so on my cellphone. Most people probably do as well. WP7 is too much text and a 2 color-contrast thingy. You know what I mean? Waste of space.
And you don't have to place even a single icon. Nothing. And there are widgets, not only are widgets comparable to live tiles, they are maybe superior - you can see a whole lot information (can even infinitely scroll IN them) without going into the app, they refresh themselves as often as you want, can contain toggles and what not.
I do get where your hate for Android is coming from...having ICS before my eyes is giving me confidence, there is a sense of consistency and class, some kind of easiness in there now.

Start at 6 minutes. Google better be planning something drastic because these will annihilate Android on tablets.
